READING THROUGH 1 CORINTHIANS 8:1-3
* Before answering questions
about food sacrificed to idols, consider the differences
between knowledge and love.
* What we know gives us opinions.
We may take pride in what we know,
whereas we respond differently
to those we love.
* The more we know, the more
we realize we don't know.
* But if you love God, He knows you.
1 COR 8:1-3 (NET) |
"1 With regard to food sacrificed to idols,
we know that “we all have knowledge.”
Knowledge puffs up,
but love builds up.
2 If someone thinks he knows something,
he does not yet know to the degree
that he needs to know.
3 But if someone loves God,
he is known by God."
