< Eph 1:1-12 Study Guide >

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

The Father has blessed us

- with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

- Before the foundation of the world, the Father chose us to be in Christ, to be holy without blame before Him in love,

- this means Father predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself,

- adoption as sons to God is according to the good pleasure of God's will - praise the glory of His grace,

- It is by God's grace that in Jesus the Beloved we are accepted by God's adoption plan

- In Jesus we have redemption through His blood. Redemption is the forgiveness of sins

- God has so much grace He is rich in grace

- God made His grace abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

- It pleases God to make the mystery of His will known to us

- God has this intended goal: in the dispensation of the fullness of the times, He will gather together in one - in Christ - all things in heaven and on earth

- Also in Christ Jesus we have obtained a predestinated inheritance, by God's will, intention, and unique power that we who first trusted in Christ should cause praise to God's glory

< Eph 1:13-14 Study Guide >

* You trusted in Christ as a result of hearing the word of truth, also called the gospel of your salvation.

* In your trusted Christ, you all were sealed with the Holy Spirit Jesus had promised

* This Holy Spirit sealing is God's earnest payment, guaranteeing our inheritance

* Our inheritance will come with the redemption of the purchased possession. For that we praise His glory.
