The End of God's Longsuffering Patience

Local History:
Patmos is a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea.

The book of Revelation "has generally been fixed at A.D. 96, in the reign of Domitian" most likely by John the Apostle and evangelist. (EBD) "Eusebius also records that, in the persecution under Domitian, John the apostle and evangelist was banished to the Island Patmos for his testimony of the divine word." (SBD)

  * 3rd angel with trumpet: great star falls on rivers, springs; causes bitter death from Wormwood
  * 4th angel with trumpet: 1/3 of the Sun, moon, stars darkened

In the midst of grief and sorrow (woes), "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." (7:10)
